Abstract The present study was planned to investigate the effect of addition of some feed additives (lactose, yeast and organic acids combination on performances, immunity, and reproductive status of both growing and laying Japanese quail. A total of 180 unsexed Japanese quail healthy chicks one-week- old were used in 35 day growth performance trial. When the birds reached 42 days of age (sexual maturity), all birds were sexed and transferred to layer cages for 12 weeks reproductive and laying trial. Results of 0.3% yeast, 0.1 % lactose and OAC or OAC with lactose improved the growth performance, immune response and reduced cost of production especially due to 0.1 % lactose and OAC with lactose. One tenth % lactose, OAC and OAC with lactose have the highest positive effect on egg production, fertility and chick quality. |
