Abstract In the present work the theoretical and experimental studies are carried for a low pressure compressor. The aero-dynamic flow instabilities known by rotating stall and surge can be captured by the model of compression system. To suppress these instabilities, the recirculation technique is used. In this thesis, the modeling of compression system with recirculation technique is developed. The modeling form takes the four-state low order model. Particle Image Velocimetery (PIV) is a powerful tool, by which the flow can be visualized in nearly real time. Therefore, the relative turbulence intensity at different operating condition is calculated using PIV measurements. The relative turbulence intensity is a good PIV criterion for both stable and unstable regimes identification. |
