Abstract

This presented field study was conducted in five farms in Wadi El- Rayan and Qaroun Lake in El-Fayoum governorate to investigate the frequency distribution of some common bacterial diseases affecting cultured tilapia, Pseudomonas spp., Fecal enterococci and Flavobacterium columnaris, and studying the role of aquaculture systems in their dynamic of spread regarding to biosecurity programme involving pre-stocking structural and operational practices in addition to water quality analysis for final evaluation, validation and risk assessment of possible causes attributed to such pathogens spread. A total no. of 532 fry and fingerlings (116 pools) and 124 adult fish samples were bacteriologically examined, in addition to 37 water samples collected from the cultured nursery and fattening ponds being examined physiochemically and microbiologically for total colony count (TCC), total fecal streptococci (TFS) and total Pseudomnas count (TPS). The bacteriological examination of examined fry and fingerlings revealed that the Fecal enterococci and Pseudomonas species were nearly the most frequently isolated recording (52.75%) and (52.02%), respectively, while Flavobacterium columnaris was the lowest isolated bacteria recording (28.85%). from adult fish, the frequency distribution of isolated bacteria was high recording (69.88%), (51.51%) and (19.82%) for Fecal enterococci, pseudomonas species and Flavobacterium columnaris, respectively.
