Abstract Nowadays, switched reluctance motors (SRMs) attract more and more attention. The switched reluctance motor is simple to construct. It not only features a salient pole stator with concentrated coils, which allows shorter end turns than other types of motors, but also features a salient pole rotor, which has no conductors or magnets and is thus the simplest of all electric machine rotors. Simplicity makes the SRM inexpensive and reliable, and together with its high speed capacity and high torque to inertia ratio, makes it a superior choice in different applications. In this work analysis, modeling, and simulation have been done for a 4¬phase 8 stator poles /6 rotor poles (8/6) using a linear model. The motor is simulated using the simulink lMatlab package for closed loop control. For the closed loop control simulation results show high torque ripples which cause noise and vibrations. A current control strategy IS implemented for torque ripple minimization and a neural network is same job. The results show significant reduction in .. Experimental work using PIC microcontroller is performed to show the motor operation. |
