Abstract Several different epidemiological methods have been applied in studing staphylococci. 1- Inoculation of staphylococci onto mannitol salt agar and O-F reaction revealed occurance of 8/46(17.4%), 10/10(100 %) and 13/14(92.9%) positive fermentation onto mannitol salt agar for samples obtained from milk, meat products and human respectively. In addition only one isolate obtained from milk was oxidative in O-F test 2- Depending on TCT, coagulase producing isolates represented 31/69(44.9%) of examined isolates, they represented 8/45 11/8%),10/10(100%) and 13/14(92.9%) of isolates from milk, meat products and human respectively. 3- Biotyping of Cons revealed occurance of 6/20(30 %) S. xylosus, 6/20(30%) S. sciuri, 5/20(25%) S.lentus, 2/20(10%) S.chromogens and 1120(5%) S. simulans for isolates obtained from milk samples. 4- Results of antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed that CoPS are more sensitive to all antimicrobial agent, meanwhile CoNS revealed frequent resistance to the same antimicrobials. - all CoPS and CoNS obtained from the same source could be differentiated by zone size diameter. 5- All tube coagulase positive staphylococci contained nuc and fem.A SA gene in addition 3 coagulase negative isolates by TCT were confermed as S. aureus by nuc and fem.A SA genes. |
