Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between CD4+ T cell (Th1, Th2) and CD8+ T cell phenotype characterization in liver granuloma immuno-pathology, cytokines profiles in spleen cells and protection of infection gained after vaccination of mice with Human anti-idiotypic vaccine, with Mice anti-idiotypic vaccine and with the combination of the two vaccines together. The results showed that vaccination with Mice anti-Id resulted in (2.8%) protection, but with Human anti-Id resulted in (30.9%), while with the combination of the two vaccines resulted in (42.45%). Also, there was marked reduction in granulomas sizes and decreased ratio of T cell subsets (CD4+/CD8+) with high levels of Th1 cytokines (IFN-ү) in mice vaccinated with the combined vaccines. These results suggested that vaccination with combined vaccines (Human and Mice anti-Ids) not only induced a significant reduction in worm and egg burdens, but also significantly reduced the size of egg granuloma. |
