Abstract
The present study done on 200 dust samples were collected from different houses at El-Minia Governorate. Also 80 dust samples collected from houses of asthmatic patients and control group.
Living and dead mites have been isolated from dust by using a modified Berlese funnel with wire screening.
60 asthmatic patients with positive skin prick test were included in this study, also 20 persons, with negative positive skin prick test were included as a control group.
Specific IgE measurement was done ELISA reader with manual wash.
In the present study the prevalence of different species of mites in dust samples was (55.71%) from both rural and urban areas.
Prevalence of house dust mites in this study in relation to different seasons were (63.55%) in spring, (71.25%) in summer and in autumn it was (53.78%) while it was (21.81%) in winter.
In this study specific IgE for Derp1 and Der f1in asthmatic patients and control group were as following, not detected in (13.75%), low 23.75%), raised 20%), definitely raised (15%), high (15%), very high (IgE=50)(7.5%) and extremely high (5%).
