Abstract
Using of β-(4-bromobenzoyl) acrylic acid in synthesis of heterocyclic
compounds:-
This thesis describes the utility of β-(4-bromobenzoyl) acrylic as a
key starting material for the preparation of a novel series of aroylacrylic
acids, pyridazinones and furanones derivatives. Studying the
antimicrobial activities of these compounds was performed.
Synthesis of 4-(4-bromophenyl)-4-oxobutanioc acid derivatives:-
When β-(4-bromobenzoyl) acrylic acid reacts with benzimidazole,
anthranilic acid, o-phenylenediamine in ethanol, compounds (I), (V) and
(VIII) are yielded respectively. The reaction of β-(4-bromobenzoyl)
acrylic acid with ethyl glycinate hydrochloride in the presence of sodium
acetate and DROPs of acetic acid in ethanol, compound (XII) is yielded
cf. scheme (A).
