Abstract Group III: 18 microalbuminuric type2 diabetic patients. A] Routine investigations that include; I-Fasting & postprandial blood glucose. 2-Glycated hemoglobin. 3- Renal function tests(serum creatinine and urea ). 4- Serum total cholesterol and triglycerides. 5-Complete urine analysis. 6-Creatinine clearance( by 24 hrs urinary collection). B] Special investigations; I-Microalbuminuria by ELISA (expressed as ACR)~ 2-Serum Cystatin C by ELISA. Results of different groups were compared with each other and were summarized as follows: • There was highly significant positive cOITelation between serum creatinine an-d age of the patients(p _value<O.Ol},.and also there was highly significant negative cOITelation between creatinine clearance and age of the patients. • There was significant cOITelation between cystatin C and age m aU groups. • Serum creatinine values were significantly differed between females and males (p< 0.05), while no significant difference was observed for cystatin C values ( p = 0.7) and creatinine clearance. • There was statistically significant increase in FBG,2hrs post prandial and glycated haemoglobin in normoalbuminuric , microalbuminuric and macroalbuminuric groups when compared to control group (p- value<O.OS). • There was statistically significant increase ii1 serum total cholesterol and serum triglycerides in all patients groups when compared to control group(p-vaiue<0.05). • There wa.s statistically significant increased in serum urea m ,normoalbuminuric group and microalbumiuric group (P-value < O.OS).Also there was statistically significant increased level of serum creatinine in macroalbuminuric group when compared to controls and normoalbuminuric group . • There was statiscally significant decrease in creatinine clearance in ,normoalbuminuric and microalbuminuric groups (P-value<O.OS). |
