Abstract The inclination towards establishing new communities in egypt, is one of the fundamental aspects of the comprehensive development planing. new communities constitute the selected strategy for confronting the continuing increase of population, urban rural migration and saving agriculture lands from urban expansions. more over, it will help absorbing the increasing of urban population in existing communities.considering the novelty of practicing physical planning in egypt, at such wide scale, the lack of service standard has lead professional planners to amplify in designing for supply of services for new communities.A research project for formulating service spatial distribution patterns and service standards for egypt, is therefore essential.Definition of the problem: planning studies for the new communitites in egypt has shown diversity in the service standard currently used.this reflects the particular views of planner in charge of designing for service supply, and the diversity of socio-economic and enviromental characteristics of each case. A frame for local service supply standard that will encompass a flexible range that matches the different cases is therefore eminent.Meanwhile, spatial distribution patterns of services is assumed to have positive impact of the service standards. this should complement the values of the deduced service stanards, and in turn achieve a more elaborate and comprehensive standard. The aim of the research : explore and define the impact of service spatial distribution patterns on the service standards, within the frame of the proposed service structure of the new communities in egypt. this entails deducing parameters for local services standard, as well as analyzing the divers spatial patterns of service distribution, in order to attain a qualtative relationships between both of them. |
