Abstract The current study was carried out in the experimental farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Menoufiya University, Shibin El-Kom, Egypt. In Egypt more than 30 million tons of agricultural wastes are yearly production, most of these materials are used by farmers for cooking and contribute to environmental pollution (Nasr, 1994). The present work aims to investigate the possibility of utilization of some locally available biosolid wastes like rice straw, potato straw to produce organic fertilizer to reduce environmental pollution by chemical fertilizers and burning the biosolid wastes. The main aims of this work were to study the effect of plant residues type composted at different periods and its application at different rates on : 1- Some chemical properties of newley reclaimed soils of Egypt. 2- Soils content of available macronutrients. 3- wheat plant growth. 4- Wheat plant content of some macronutrients. Also, the effect of C/N ratio of uncomposted plant residues on the prementioned four parameter were studied. |
