Abstract

The aim of this study was to confirm the
usefulness of AAI to predict the diffuse and
complex lesions in patients undergoing coronary
angiography.
This study was conducted on 100 patients in
Police Authority Hospital and all patients
underwent full history taking, clinical
examination, ECG, and routine laboratory
investigations in addition to coronary
angiography and AAI measurements. Based on
AAI values, patients were divided into study
group (AAI value ≤0.9, 57patients) and control
group (AAI value >0.9, 43patients).
The presence of diabetes mellitus, history of
claudicating pain, cholesterol and triglycerides
level differed significantly between these two
groups. As their presence were more frequent in
patients with the lower AAI (group II
patients),also group II characterized by the
prevalence of worse LVEF%.
