Abstract The supraspinatus muscle arises from the medial three -fourth of the supraspinous fossa and from the upper surface of< the scapular spine. The tendon passes on to be inserted into the smooth facet on the superior part of greater tuberosity. (ÕÑ chronic tendon problems are common in orthopaedic patients. Relatively little is known about the etiology of these< common problems and the efficiency of available treatment. It is believed that the cause of many injuries is repetitive mechanical trauma followed by inflammatory response. (ÔÑ)< Tendinitis can cause further subacromial loading, unless specific attention directed at interrupting this disorder. Today’s emphasis high-risk population, such as pitchers and swimmers is< on prophylaxis. (ÔÓ) |
