Abstract Our study showed that the mean age of our patients was younger in comparison with other national and international - Registries - Women presented at older age comparing to men. As most female patients presented at age group >٥٥ years old and most male patients presented at age group <٥٥ years old - Women had a higher prevalence of diabetes, hypertension, and dyslipedmia than their male counterparts. - Women had a higher body mass index than their male counterparts - Amongst the female group, only١٤.٢٢% of patients gave a history of smoking. On comparison, ٨٤.٤% of male patients gave a history of smoking. - Women had more comorbid conditions than men; clinically, but not statistically significant as cerebrovascular disease and renal impairment. - Women with ACS more likely than men to present with atypical symptoms, although most male patients presented with typical chest pain - ٥٥.٠٥% of the female patients were menopausal. ٨.٣ % of the female patients were on hormonal replacement therapy. Of the ٤٤.٩٥% still menstruating patients, ٣٤.٦% of patients were taking oral contraceptive therapy. |
