Abstract The aim of this study was the design, construction and testing of a ring die pelleting machine to produce animal feed pellets for small scale farms including the study of the operating parameters affecting machine efficiency and pellets quality ;use some vegetables wastes as a local animal protein in rabbits formula; determine the appropriate combination of operating factors and pellets quality, with minimum energy requirements and reduce the animal production costs. The following conclusions are obtained from this study: 1- The highest machine production rate were 321.72 kg/h using roller speed of 230 rpm ,die hole land length of 5mm and moisture addition for formula of 9%. 2- The highest pelleting efficiency were 94.78% using roller speed of 280 rpm ,die hole land length of 15mm and moisture addition for formula of 6%. 3- The highest pellets bulk density were 1.544 g/cm3 using roller speed of 230 rpm ,die hole land length of 15mm and moisture addition for formula of 12%. |
