Abstract

This research was conducted to study the clinical and radiographical effect of implant supported partial overdenture for cases with long mandibular Class I11 Kennedy’s classification. Fifteen male patients selected for this study with their age ranging from 30-50 years. All patients with unilateral long mandibular edentulous space bounded by the mandibular canine anteriorly and the second molar posteriorly and the opposing arch was almost completely dentulous.. Patients were received unilateral implant supported partial overdenture )supported by natural teeth at each side of the edentulous area as well as osseointegrated implant at the middle of the edentulous area) composed of bounded saddle retained with RPI -gingivally approaching clasp on the canine, ring clasp on the second molar and Ball and socket attachment was used between the implant and overlay denture. The microdent implant system was used in this study. All the implants used in this research were 3.5mm in width and 13mm in length. They were left for a healing period of three months before exposing and connecting them to the oral cavity. A temporary prosthesis was inserted and left until healing occurred. Clinical evaluation of the cases included the recording of pocket depth, clinical attachment level (gingival cervicular fluid, implant and tooth mobility at denture insertion, one month, three months, six months and nine months later.
