Abstract

This dissertation examines twelve papyri documents from the Egyptian Museum and from the collection of Yale Rare Book Library’s Papyri. Most of these documents belong to the Roman and Byzantine periods. Hence their classification according to their dates, II/III to VII centuries.
The Yale Papyri collection is in good condition, while that of the Egyptian Museum is fragmented. Thus, while this latter collection presents valuable information it is less fruitful than the former.
The papyri documents of this dissertation are as follows:
 P. CtYBR inv. 686: It is a private letter which came from an unknown place and is attributed to the Roman period, II/III century. It is a medium brown papyrus consisting of thirteen lines and regularly cut off on all sides, but it is somewhat mutilated [distorted?] from the top. The verso is blank.
