Abstract from the previous results it appeared that the best concentration or xylose i(>r iactic acid productton by conventional batch culture wtth pll-stat was 50 gm/L. While in case of using electrodialysis fermentation with microlilter method to release the end product from fermentation medium the best concentration of xylose was 80 gm/L that gave the highest result. In case of continuous culture, the favorable result was obtained with xylose concentration of 20 gm/L and dilution rate of 0.22 h- 1 • llowcwr, for nisin Z biosynthesis, the optimum fermentatton conditions f(>r production were medium consist of (gm/L): Polypeptone I 0.0 gtn, yca:;t c.xllact 10.0 gm, sodium chloride 5.0 gm, xylos~.: 20.0 gnt, tnagncsium sulphate 5.0 gm, cystine 5.0 gm, tween 80 5.0 milL (v/v) calcium chlmide 7.5 gm and the optimum environmental conditions were incubation temperature 30 oc. pi I 5.5 agitation speed 200 rpm/min, inoculum size 10% (v/v) and preculture time for inoculum of four hours, such fermentation conditions produced (2599 IU/ml. medium). In addition, other important fermented by-products (lactate and acetate) were produced like those obtained under conditions used for lactic acid production. Thus, these products could be considered important |
