Abstract
In reconstructing the geological history of the map area – the subject matter of the present thesis – the writer finds it inveitable to take in account the geology of the adjacent area east of Gabal Atud and Which was, in turn, the subject matter for the writers M. sc. Thesis. This is mainly due to the presence of the Atud Formationin that adjacent area; the formation provided by that conglomeratic formation ties beautifully and both confirms and is strengthened by the evidence obtained from the present map area.
