Abstract A palynological study was carried out on both Jurassic and lower cretaceous sequences in three boreholes drilled at the north-western desert of Egypt. A considerable number of samples was prepared but unfortunately the majority of them are very poor in their fossil content or completely barren. In the present study ,41 species related to36 genera of spores and pollen, 88 species related to 41 of genera of dinoflagellate cysts and one genus of palynomorphae incertae sedis were identified. The palynomorph content was qualitatively and quantitatively investigated. The results were graphically represented illustrating the general relative frequencies the continental against the marine components. |
