Abstract The present study was carried out at the Animal Production xperimental Station of the Faculty of Agr— I iculture, University of Assiut during 1965 and 1966. A total of 41 purebred and crossbred Jersey bulls and 20 purebred and crossbred Jersey heifers were used. Feeding regimen consisted of clover (Trifoliurn Alexandrinum) and a mixure of concentrates during winter and ,and green corn fodder (Darawa) and a mixure of concentrates during sumraer and. autumn. The mixure of concentrates consisted of 60% ground maize, 20% wheat bran, and 20% ground cotton seed cake. Animals were given their requi— rements according to their body weight and stage of growths The results of the different experiments are sumin— arized in the following : 1. There were monthly and seasonal variations in most f semen characteristics studied. The best semen qualities were produced during autumn and the lowest semen qualities were during winter. 2.
