Abstract - 133 - In studying anti-A and anti-B agglutinins in health and disease total number of 310 persons were studied 151 males and 159 females, eir ages varies from below 6 months to 70 years. Typing of RBCs were done using anti-A, anti-A 1 anti-B and ti- A + B, serum typing was done using group A 1 B, and 0 red lis. Titration of anti-A and anti-B.: were done using A 1 red cells d B red cells at 250C and 370C m saline titration by indirect anti- obulin test after 1/10 dilution of the serum was done with and ithout 2-ME to inactivate IgM antibodies and differentiate IgG from M titre. Haemolysin test was done by adding equal volumes of fresh rum of the invidual with group 0 to 5% suspension of group A and cells respectively. e following groups were studied: 128 apparently healthy persons to study the effect of age and sex on the anti-A and anti-B titres and IgG and IgM titres.
