Abstract

The present work was conducted to study the bionomics of Antetmcs de5ntoIzam Desneux, in Upper Egypt. Results obtained could be summarized as follows,
1— A. descntc4um is one of the most dominant termite species in Asswan and New—valley governorates. It was recorded infesting red gum, date palm, beef wood and ficus trees.
The two groups of termite collected either from
New—valley or Asswan belongod to the same species.
2- Termite survived for the longest period when fed on toilet paper plus wood.
3— The maximum survival period of workers collected from Asswan was observed at 250c and 100% relative humidity whereas those collected from New-Valley was observed at 150C and 86% relative humidity.
4— Termites survived for a longer period in groups than those isolated in single iidi.viduals at all combinations of tested temperatura and relative humidities
