Abstract as insecticides. xperxttetts ot the present were carried out to determine the ovicidal and larvi— cidal effect of Epus: BAY SIR 8514, diflubenauron, wco 439 XRD 473 and chlorfluazuron on the susceptible strains of the cotton leafworm,S. LLttc4cztLa and the black cutworm., A. £6pUon. Toxic effect and sterilizing action of these compounds on both pupae and adults stages were also determined. The results obtained throughout this work can be summerized as follows: (A) Toxic effect of benzoylphenyl urea insecticides on eggs of Spodop-teita LLtto4atL4 and Ag*otLo £p4Lton. 1 — The tested BPU compounds showed to have considerable ovicidal properties against the different ages of eggs on S. tLtto’tZi4 and A. Ap4Uon. rn both insects, BAY SIR 8514 was the most ovicidal effect, followed by diflubenzuron,Dwco439, XRD 473 and chlorfluazuron, which was the less effective one. 2 — The tolerance of the two insect species eggs increased with increase of egg age. 3 — The homogenity of the tested population of S. ZtontitLa and A. tp4tZOn eggs to the tested benzoylphenyl urea |
