Abstract

This work was performed on 20 patients of chronic viral hepatitis (8 and C) selected from the attending internal medicine department of Zagazig Faculty of medicine also equivalent to to control subjects. Patients were grouped into two groups; the third was of control; as follow. @ (Troup J [contra! group): Comprised of 10 normal subjects. They were clinically free. ofHBV or HCV infection, they were chosen of different age and sex. Group ll(hepatitis B group):Comprised of 10 patients with chronic hepatitis B, they were chosen of different age and sex. Group lI/(Hepatiti.5 Cgroup}: Comprised of 10 patients with chronic hepatitis C, they were chosen of different age and sex. All studied cases were subjected to the following laboratory tests :Complete history taking and full clinical examination. Liver function tests: Total protein, Albumin, Bilirubin, ALT & AST. Complete blood picture including 121 Absolute lymphocytic count. Serum HCV antibodies second generation test. HBsAg (Latex). Enumeration of T-cell subsets (CD3.CD4.CDK also Cn”,CDs ratio) by Immunstain Strept A-B monoclonal procedure. Serum ALl’ and A.S.T were increased in groups; II and III, compared by the control Serum Bilirubin was increased in groups; II and HI, compared by the control. Serum albumin was decreased in groups; 0 and HI, compared by the control. Serum Total protein was not significantly decreased in groups ; D and III, compared by the control Absolute lymphocytic count had no significance in groups ; nand m HBsAg was positive in group n, negative in groups m and the control RCV-Ab was positive in group lll, Negative in groups U. and the control.
