Abstract as indicated from test results and within the range of stresses used the following conclusions may by drawn : 1- stress anisotropy during consolidation proves to have a distinct influence on the stress-strain behaviour of the tested soil it increases the undrained strength and decreases the axial strain at peak deviator stress. thuse a significant decrease in the built-up pore pressure during undrained loading is observed 2- stress history is found to have fairly little effect on failure conditions of the tested samples. |
