Abstract

Nursing is an ever changing field, in recent years, there are many developments and changes in several sides of life; technological and scientific field’s progresses, social changes and the huge amount of information and knowledge. All of that affects nurse education which is based on clinical teaching. So, this study aimed to determine the nursing educator’s opinion - in all academic departments - about effective clinical teaching at the Faculty of Nursing, El-Minia University and determine the nursing student opinion about effective clinical teaching at the Faculty of Nursing, El-Minia University.
The present study was conducted at the Faculty of Nursing, El-Mania University, including all nursing academic departments namely: Medical Surgeon department, Obstetric department, Pediatrics department, Psychiatric department, Community Health department and Administration department.
The study subjects comprised of a convenient sample of nursing educators in all academic departments (n=51) divided as: (28) demonstrators, (9) assistant lecturers and (14) lecturers, nursing students enrolled in all academic years (209) divided as: (41) student from 1st year, (53) student from 2nd year, (58) student from 3rd year and (57) student from 4th year.
One Tool was used in the present study for all subjective (teachers, and students): ”Students’ and Teachers’ Effective Clinical Teaching Oppinionnaire” developed by the researcher. It was divided into two parts:
Part one: It was an oppinionniare schedule which included a group of statements with Likert scale ranged from (1 to 5) options (where 5 means most importance - where 1 means no importance) related to the (12) basic educational elements, covering effective clinical teaching phases (preparation phase), (conduction phase) and (evaluation phase). It included (70) statements as following.
