Abstract This study was carried out in Sids Agricultural Research Station in Beni-Suef Governorate in the period from February 2009 till September 2010 including winter and summer lambing seasons to investigate the effect of some managerial and maternal factors on lamb performance. Ewes were divided according their temperament, BCS, body weight, age, and parity. And in relation to their management (nutrition, vitamin E and selenium injection, lambing season and vaccination). The obtained results indicated that ewe temperament significantly affect lamb behaviour, blood parameters and immunity and consequently lamb survival, but don’t have such effect on lamb growth traits; ewe BCS, body weight, age and parity as maternal factors and nutrition, vitamin E and selenium injection were significantly affect the lamb growth traits, while they have variable effects on lamb blood parameters and immunity. |
