Abstract
ais is a structural 3d curvature of the spine that occurs at,or about,the onset of puberty and befor maturity for which no precise etiology has been proven.knowledge of the natural history and prevalence of ais is essential to correctly judge the efficacy of any treatment.it includes the prevalence of ais in the general population,the curve progression and the problems that may occur in adult life if scoliosis is left untreated as bak pain,cardiopulmonary problems,and psychosocial concerns.
