Abstract Randomly 180 shrimp Penaeus japonicus samples were collected from Ataka Fishing port, Suez-Bay, Suez city, (60 samples, each season) spring, summer and winter respectively. Some Penaeus japonicus specimens showed blackening, redness and sloughing of body parts. Target organs for isolation were hepatopancreas, gills and musculature. Enrichment and isolation done by using ISO 21827-2 (2007). Morphological and biochemical identification of bacterial isolates revealed Vibrio alginolyticus, Vibrio mimicus and vibrio parahaemolyticus. Total prevalence of vibriosis revealed that (64.4%) while seasonal prevalence was (73.3%) in spring, (95%) in summer and (25%) in winter. Histopathologically necrosis and degeneration found in gills, hepatopancreas and muscles. |
