Abstract
The present study dialed with trials to approach the problem of abortion in Egypt in the last trimester of pregnancy and losses in the newly born foals.Isolation and identification of the causative local isolate of equine herpes virus 1 was applied Isolation was mad in tissue culture and on chorio–allantoic membrane of embrocated chicken eggs inoculated with samples of aborted fetus ( placenta, lung, liver).
