Abstract The present study was conducted to throw light on the relationship between chromosomal aberrations and some reproductive disorders in Holstein- Friesian cows and Egyptian buffaloes under Egyptian conditions. The materials of this work included sixty Holstein-Friesian cows (12 control, 8 repeat breeding animals, 6 anestruous, 4 freemartin, 8 retained placenta, 5 vaginal prolapse, 6 uterine prolapse, 5 animals with habitual abortion and 6 uterine torsion) , fifty Egyptian buffaloes (10 control, 6 repeat breeding animals, 5 anestruous, 2 freemartin, 6 retained placenta, 5 vaginal prolapse, 6 uterine prolapse, 5 animals with habitual abortion and 5 uterine torsion) , eight immature cow bulls and eight immature buffalo o bulls from different private farms located at EI-Sharkia province. The animals which subjected to this study were classified into different nine groups. Blood samples were collected from all animals used in the study, whole blood cultures were set up and chromosomal preparations were made. |
