Abstract The present work deals with Studying the intake, utilization and digestibility of food in larval stages of ten successive generations of attacus ricini boisd. Also, the effect of the varieties of castor on certain biological aspects and on silk production, is studied. The results Obtained show that the larvae consume significantly more amounts of fresh leaves of the bloomy red variety than of the bloomy green during the five instars. The average change per unit (g) in the weight of larvae increases the weight of cocoon cortex by aN average of 0.965 and 0.846g. In both the bloomy red and the bloomy green varieties . |
