Abstract

The present study was done on a total number of two thousands and sixty swabs(one thousand and thirty tracheal swabs and one thousand and thirty cloacal swabs)representing one hundred and three poultry flocks of chickens(broiler breeders-layers-broilers),turkey and ducks in Egypt for screening the presence of avian influenza subtype H5(highly pathogenic)using Real-Time PCR. the result showed that twenty seven flocks were positive then immunoperoxiase and pathological studies were done on one hundred and sixty five birds from these positive flocks. The result of immunoperoxidase showed the presence of the antigen within different organs in different degrees of severity. The histopathological examination revealed severe congestion, hemorrhages and inflammation within different organs.
