Abstract

This study was conducted on blood samples collected from cattle(25), human (15) and dogs (26) and also, on tick samples collected from cattle(12) and dogs (14) to be examined microscopically for Anaplasma marginale, Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Borrelia burgdorferi. Isolation of B. burgdorferi cultivated on BSK-H media was achieved. PCR amplification of genes of surface proteins (Osp A, msp 1,2 and 5) revealed the presence of A. marginale and B. burgdorferi in cattle and presence of the later in human and dogs.Sequancing and phylogenetic analysis of Osp A gene of the isolated B. burgdorferi results revealed the relationship between our isolate and other standered strains.
