Abstract

This study was conducted to describe the pathogenesis of the acute and latent infections with BHV-1 in goats. For this purpose, five male kids 3-4 months age experimentally infected with IBR virus intranasally and conjunctively in addition to one non inoculated control kid. These kids with no serologic evidence of BHV-1 infection or vaccination. In addition to injection of three of them with dexamethasone post complete cessation of clinical signs and viral shedding. All these kids monitored for clinical signs, viral shedding, antibody production, pathologic feature and clinico-pathologic changes.
