Abstract The present work was planned to evaluate and differentiate between the immunological and biological activity of inhibin in the serum, follicular and lDIoiotic fluids of pregnant and non pregnant she-camel during breeding and non breeding seasons. Samples were grouped into (S, S.Mg, S.Ma, S.M.L, S.L, Mg.S, Ma.S, M.S.L, L.S and L.S.M). Ovine testicular lymph protein fraction IV (OTLP4) and steroid free bovine follicular fluid were collected and separated. Levels of immunoreactive inhibin and FSH were determined using indirect ELISA. Also quaotitative determination of 17 fJ - estradiol using competitive ELISA was done. The immunological assay was confirmed and differentiated by in vitro and ill vivo experimental biological assay. The results revealed that there are different types of the same sized follicle and consequently different inhibin concentrations were obtained. There was a difference in immunoreactive and bioactive inhibin and the presence of medium sized follicles (either growing or atretic) with its contents of inhibin and estrogen control up dominance or down regression. In pregnant she- camel inhibin levels increase in follicular fluid, serum and amniotic fluid with the advancement of pregnancy which may be attributed to another sources as corpus luteum, placenta or fetal gonads. |
