Abstract
This study was carried out in Animal Production Station - EI-Serw at Damietta governorate to evaluate the role of some immunostimulant injection {Selenium (Se) - Vit.E - Se/ Vit.E - Levamisole} in sheep on the efficacy of vaccination of inactivated FMD (01) and RVF tissue culture vaccines. Twenty-two Balady sheep about six months old were used in this experiment, all sheep were vaccinated with inactivated FMD (01) and RVF tissue culture vaccines at 16th day of the experiment immediately after immunostimulant injections. Blood and serum samples were collected every week after vaccination to determine the level of antibodies using SNT, estimation of serum total protein and electrophoretic pattern of serum protein using sodium dodecyle sulphate polyacrylamid gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE). Total and differentialleukocytic counts were also performed on whole blood samples collected, the results represented that there was a significant increase ( p :5 0.05) of antibody titer against FMD and RVF, a significant increase of serum total protein, beta and gamma globulins in sheep injected with immunostimulant, also there was a significant increase in total and lymphocytic counts while there was no significant difference in neutrophil, monocytes, eosinophil and basophile counts than control (non injected) group.
