Abstract Calcium activated potassium channels are a family of potassium selective ion channels activated in response to the increase in intracellular calcium concentration and voltage. The current study was carried out to isolate the mito BKCa-α gene in mouse cardiomyocytes, characterize this gene and determine its role in cardioprotection. RACE PCR was used to determine the cDNA of this gene. Mito BKCa cDNA was cloned and chanracterized. |
