Abstract

It is concluded that there is no evidence to support that the tested live attenuated CAV vaccine causes immune suppression up an field application in CAV vaccinated breeders at 11 weeks of age throughout the 22 weeks of their ages in addition there is no evidence to support that the tested CAV vaccine causes immune suppression in progeny from these breeders at early of breeding period (CAV shedding is reported most in this stage). Furthermore, signs of CAV shedding were not detected in progeny chicks from vaccinated dams. Therefore, it is concluded that tested vaccine is immunogenic and safe for field application, also it is suggested that further investigation should be done for vaccination at larger age may be more preferable for obtaining in higher level of maternal antibody in the progeny chicks. It is recommended depending on CAV VP1 PCR in the diagnosis of CAV infection in flocks, in detection of CAV in raw materials used for avian vaccine production and in quality control to insure the freedom of these products from CAV. As this technique is more specific, more sensitive, cheaper and faster than any of the diagnostic approaches available now for the diagnosis of CAV.
