Abstract This study investigates the effect of gonadotropin hormones and flushing with lupine grains on body weight, lambs birth weight, hemogram, serum biochemical parameters and cytogenetic analysis. Forty adult, healthy Barki ewes of 3-5 years with 45-50 Kg divided into four groups (10 ewes each) the first (control group), the second treated with PMSG, the third treated with PMSG and GnRH hormones and the fourth supplemented with lupine grains, fed on ordinary diet all pregnancy period. Blood samples were collected monthly at the study period. The results revealed, significant increase in body weight and lambs birth weight in supplemented lupine group. RBCs, Hb, PCV, total proteins, albumin, glucose, calcium and inorganic phosphorus revealed significant decrease than control one in hormonal treated groups. Significant increase in totalleukokytic count, AST, ALT, totallipids, cholesterol and triglycerides as well as hormonal assay progesterone and cortisol in all groups than treated group while BUN and creatinine were significant increase in hormonal treated group only. Chromosomal aberrations in gonadotropin hormones treated groups showed highly significance than control group while flushed group with lupine reduced than the control group. |
