Abstract
This study was conducted during the period from 1/12/2009 to 31/5/2010 on 40 patients presented to the ER ward of Alexandria Main University Hospital with penetrating wounds to the anterior abdomen. Thirty nine patients were males, 1 female, the age ranged from 18 to 60 years with mean age of 33.3 ± 12.4, 37 patients presented with stab wounds (92.5%) (2 of them presented by 2 stabs), 2 patients presented by gunshots (5%), only one patient by bullet (2.5%) , Seven cases presented with omentum evisceration , one case had evisceration of small intestine while one case presented with colon evisceration.
