Abstract Generalized lymphadenopathy is a common problem that usually necessitates thorough investigations.Enlargement of the lymph nodes Occurs in response to a wide variety of infectious inflammatory and neoplastic processes. This study was done to find out the role of Epstein-Barr virus as etiological factors in cases of generalized lymphadenopathy in our The study included twenty children with generalized Ijmphadenopathy 13 males and 7 females, with a mean age of 7.6 years, and a ten healthy children of matched age and sex were served as a control group. The patients were subjected to detailed history and thorough clinical Complete blood picture, Erythrocytic sedemination rate and logical tests (Monospot test for detection of heterophil antibodies and A test for detection of IgG- YeA) were done to all patients and Two cases (10%) were positive by Monospot test. whereas 40% definitely positive by IFA test, compared to non of the control - 97 - |
