Abstract
This thesis aims to study profile state in patients with heart failure. Thirty patient of pediatric age with heart failure are selected randomly irrespective of the cause and ten apparently healthy children of same age group served as control group . Complete physical examination and investigations are done to find the cause and evaluate the cases. Thiamine, folic acid and Vit BI2 are determined• The group of patient is subdivided into two sub-groups. First sub-group received thiamine and traditional treatment for heart failure. Second sub-group received traditional treatment only. When the results were analysed we found that most of the cases had multi factorial etiologies for heart failure and cardiac causes are more in infancy then in childhood, also, I-Ib level is less and leucoeytes are more in patients. In the comparative study using the parameters (cardiomegaly, tachypnea, tachycardia and hepatomegaly) to determine the effect of thiamine therapy, we found that some progress in patients with cardiomegaly is more in patient received thiamine while complete progress IS more in patient not received thiamine. According tachycardia the patient with progress are higher in those not received thiamine while some progress is more in patient receiving thiamina.
