Abstract

1. Monoecious sex type of snake cucumber was dominant rer and.romonoecious type of sweet melon and appeared to be gover— nod by one pair of genes,
2. Resistance to powdery mildew of sweet melon parent was dominmit over susceptibiity of snake cucumber and appeared to be governed by two uplioate genes. At least one dominant allele of resjsta±ice should be present to induce resistance.
3. White seed coat colour of snake cucumber was dsminant over ye1lw seed. coat colour of sweet melon and appeared to b governed by one pair of genes.
4.. Orange flesh colour of snake cucumber was dominant over white flesh of sweet melon. This character behaved as controlled by one pair of genes with modifiers.
