Abstract

The present work was conducted through 1986/1987 and 1987/1988 seaons on Pain and Ewais mango trees grown at El Haram Orchard, Giza Governorate. In each season, 54 trees of each cv. were selected nearly similar in vigour and size. Trees were about 28 years old and they were in the “on” year in both seasons.
Three experiments were carried out in this work
namely:
I- The effect of some growth ru1ators sprays (GA3 , GA4÷7 , Berizyl adenine, Promaline, Alar and Ethrel, each in three gradient levels) on the date of flower bud opening, % of malformed panicles, length of normal panicles, % of perfect flowers and tree yield.
II- The effect of the same growth regulators on the chemical composition of shoots, leaves and buds of Pain and Ewais mango trees (total carbohydrates, total soluble sugars, total nitrogen, C/N ratio indoles, Phenols and indoles/phenols ratio.
III— Chemical composition of mango shoots bearing normal or malformed panicles (total carbohydrates total nitrogen, C/N ratio, indoles, phenols and indoles/phenols ratio.
