Abstract Si WARY The present investigation was carried out at Assiut Univ— sity Experimental Farm, during 1980/81 and 1981/82 seasons, find out the effect of irrigation frequency and nitrogen tes oa the growth, yield and. quality of two sugar cane cultars, i.e. C.9 and NCO 310. The irrigation treatmeats were nducted by watering at 80, 60, 50 and 4(1% of the field pacity and the nitrogen rates were 0, 60, 90 and 120 kg ed., adopted to both plant and first ratoon crops. A split— 1it-lot design with four replications was applied, where itinra were arranged in the whole plots, irrigation treat— ts were located in the sub—plots, while nitrogen levels stributed at the sub—sub—plots, with a final plot size of feddan. The results were statistically ,nalysed and pared by Dimcan’s ?tultiple Range Thst. In addition the owth results duria seasons were presented graphically. The results obtained can be summarized as follows:— Growth .m.aatments:— - - DuriuR growing seasons:— Growth analyses: Generally there was a trend of reduction iii RGR and LAR iies in both seasons as the plants advanced in its ages, anwhile, the C.9 was almost higher in RGR in both seasons ept for the second stage of the plant crop, where the |
