المستخلص
The main objectives of this thesis are to study economically. The onion production in Egypt, particularly concentration on the following ()h1ectives
I - Shadow light upon producing onion in the world, and its production and consumption in Egypt.
2- Study the production cost of onion and limiting. The governorates which produce it during the economic period.
3- Study the production and economic efficiency of onion crop in Egypt.
4- Study the seasonal variation of onion prices, its marketing efficiency, marketing margin and its export.
The essential data of this study is collected from various statistical pub ications, and availabte studies related to the subject of tins work.
The study depended on the quantitative and qualitative statistical econometric analysis.
The study consists of five chapters.
The first chapter deals with the theoretical frame work of the study and reviews the literature of the important scientific studies related to tins work, while the second chapter focus upon the onion production, chapter three concentrates on the productioi cost of onion, chapter four deals with the economic appraisal for onion production and chapter five deals with the marketing of onion
