Abstract

The present thesis presents a study of the analysis of the inherent dynamic characteristics including natural frequencies associated with damping ratio for viscoelastic sandwich plates with various thickness of faced and core layers subjected to various boundary conditions. A theoretical study of the dynamic analysis of viscoelastic plates with arious thickness of faced and core layers and various boundary conditions is presented. Moreover, the developed formulation and the construction of the mathematical models of viscoelastic sandwich plates are presented by introducing developed formulation based on the finite element method. The experimental work includes the construction of an test rig for studying the effect of thickness of faced and core layers subjected to various boundary conditions on the inherent dynamic characteristics, namely eigenfrequencies and damping characteristics.
