Abstract
The study attempts a discourse analytic approach to the language of the conversations of the internet most famous and most popular chat program ”internet relay chat ”or”IRC” .AS A Synchronousmode of computer
mediated communication , language in IRC as it shows features of written
and spoken discourse , and features
that are specific to electronic discourse as abbreviation s and emoticons.
